Blockchain is a technology that allows information to be recorded in a shared and verifiable manner<\/strong>, so that any subsequent modification can be detected.<\/span><\/p>\n

In digital content certification, blockchain is mainly used to anchor a hash<\/em><\/strong>, that is, the cryptographic fingerprint representing the content of a document.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Nodes<\/strong> are the computers that make up the blockchain network. They are the ones who verify and maintain the information. Therefore, blockchain security is not absolute<\/strong>, but largely depends on the number of nodes and their independence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When a network has <\/span>many independent nodes<\/b>, it becomes much more difficult and costly to manipulate the information.<\/span><\/p>\n

By contrast, in networks with few nodes, private networks, or those controlled by a single entity, there is a greater risk that it may be possible<\/strong> to coordinate efforts to alter or rewrite the data.<\/p>\n

Under certain circumstances, what is known as a 51% attack<\/strong> may occur, which happens when a person, entity, or group gains control over the majority of the network\u2019s validation capacity. In such a scenario, it would be possible to alter the order of blocks, prevent certain transactions, or even create alternative versions of the chain. <\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, the robustness of a blockchain<\/strong> does not depend solely on the number of nodes, but also on who controls them, how they are geographically distributed, and the consensus mechanism used.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>
